My thesis was on <em>\u2018Switched beam antenna design, Theory and Experimen<\/em>t\u2019,. \u00a0 My specialist areas are : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Antenna Design<\/li><li>Radio Engineering<\/li><li>Analog and Digital hardware design (from Transistor to FPGA)<\/li><li>Microcontrollers and embedded systems<\/li><li>Digital Signal Processing (DSP)<\/li><li>Telephony<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\u00a0\nMy work experience includes\n\u00a0\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Electronics in automotives, especially the area of Electromagnetic Compatibility<\/li><li>LAN\u2019s<\/li><li>WAN over ADSL<\/li><li>Design and Maintenance of small radio stations<\/li><li>Outside Broadcast units<\/li><li>Lecturing at the University of Malta and MCAST<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from my professional work I maintain a pro-am electronics workshop at home which is fully prepared to test equipment up to 200MHz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why do I describe myself as a pro-am?
